European Participants – U.S. Short-Term Homestay Programs

Oui-Connect does not have a legal establishment in Europe. The European website (oui-connect-international.com) is an informational and marketing platform intended for European families and partners.
2. Scope of Application
2.1 These General Conditions of Sale (“CGV”) govern all short-term cultural exchange and homestay programs organized by Oui-Connect LLC for European students traveling to the United States.
2.2 The programs consist primarily of:
- Placement in volunteer American host families
- Full cultural and language immersion
- Optional excursions and group activities
- On-site local coordination and support in the USA
2.3 These CGV apply to all registrations made via the website, by email, or through partner agencies in Europe.
2.4 By registering a participant and/or making a payment, the Participant and their legal guardian expressly acknowledge having read and accepted these CGV without reservation.
3. Participants
3.1 Participants are typically European students aged 13 to 18 traveling to the United States for short-term stays (generally 2 to 4 weeks).
3.2 Since participants are minors, a parent or legal guardian must:
- Complete and sign all registration documents
- Accept full contractual and financial responsibility
- Approve participation and travel to the USA
4. Nature of the Programs
4.1 Oui-Connect programs are short-term cultural exchange homestays, not academic diploma programs and not long-term student exchange visas.
4.2 Participants live with carefully selected volunteer host families in the United States and take part in daily family life, local activities, and cultural experiences.
4.3 Host families are not employees of Oui-Connect and do not receive a salary. They host voluntarily to promote cultural exchange.
4.4 Programs are not vacation packages and require active participation, respect, and adaptability from the student.
5. Contract Formation
5.1 A contract is formed once:
- The registration application is completed and accepted
- Required documents are submitted
- The deposit (or full payment) is received
- Written confirmation is issued by Oui-Connect
5.2 Oui-Connect reserves the right to refuse or cancel a registration if the participant profile is deemed incompatible with the homestay program.
6. Prices and Payment Terms
6.1 Program prices are communicated in advance and may be expressed in USD or EUR, depending on the partner or payment method.
6.2 Prices generally include:
- Host family placement
- Accommodation and meals with the host family
- Local support and coordination in the USA
- Required insurance coverage (as specified in program details)
6.3 Prices do not include:
- International flights
- Personal expenses
- Optional excursions (unless explicitly included)
6.4 A non-refundable deposit is required at registration. The remaining balance must be paid by the deadline communicated by Oui-Connect.
7. Cancellation and Refund Policy
7.1 Cancellation by the Participant
All cancellations must be made in writing.
- The deposit is non-refundable
- Additional cancellation fees may apply depending on the date of cancellation
- No refund will be issued once the program has started
7.2 Cancellation by Oui-Connect
Oui-Connect may cancel a program due to:
- Insufficient host family availability
- Safety concerns
- Force majeure (natural disasters, political events, health crises, etc.)
In such cases, paid amounts (excluding non-recoverable costs) may be refunded or transferred to a future program, at Oui-Connect’s discretion.
8. Participant Conduct and Early Termination
8.1 Participants must:
- Respect U.S. laws and host family rules
- Follow program guidelines
- Maintain appropriate behavior at all times
8.2 Serious misconduct (including disrespect, illegal activity, substance abuse, or refusal to comply with rules) may result in early program termination, at the participant’s expense and without refund.
9. Insurance and Liability
9.1 Participants are required to have valid medical, accident, and liability insurance for the duration of their stay in the USA.
9.2 Oui-Connect is responsible for program organization and placement but cannot be held liable for:
- Personal injury
- Illness
- Loss or theft of personal belongings
- Acts beyond its reasonable control
10. Data Protection (GDPR)
10.1 Personal data is collected and processed for program administration and placement purposes.
10.2 Oui-Connect complies with GDPR requirements for European participants, including rights of access, rectification, and deletion.
11. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
11.1 These CGV and all related contracts are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.
11.2 Any dispute arising from these CGV or the program shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of California, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
12. Acceptance
By registering for a Oui-Connect program, the Participant and their legal guardian confirm that they:
- Understand the international nature of the program
- Acknowledge that Oui-Connect is a U.S.-based company
- Accept these General Conditions of Sale in full
